President & CEO

Albert Collu was brought into to serve as the CEO & President of Marathon Mortgage Corp. and sit on the Board of Directors in July 2020. He is responsible for overall strategy and operations across the company. After implementing a significant change management plan in 2020 to transform the organization, Marathon has experienced solid growth and is poised to continue its upward climb on the growth trajectory.

Albert possesses immense and diverse industry experience which includes serving as President of Mortgage Operations for a large mortgage distribution channel that owns five major brands across the country that represent approximately 8000 mortgage professionals.

Prior to that he served as the President of Verico Financial Group Inc. and held the positions of President & CEO of Mortgage Architects upon the acquisition of his company Argentum Mortgage and Finance Corp. Albert has extensive management experience with mortgage distribution and mortgage lending companies in operations, sales, marketing, and product development. Albert’s past experiences in the industry also include holding management roles with two formidable mortgage lenders in Canada. Holding a Business Commerce Degree, Albert is devoted to enhancing his knowledge base. He pursued a Graduate Degree in Law from The University of London, England, completed a Change Management program at the Kellogg School of Business through Northwestern College and an Executive Leadership program at Queens University through the Smith School of Business.

Also, a staunch supporter of the mortgage industry Albert also served on the Advisory Group for RECO (Real Estate Council of Ontario), the Stakeholder Advisory Council for the Financial Service Regulatory Services Authority of Ontario (FSRA) and has dedicated many years to industry associations in the capacity of Chair of IMBA (now CMBA Ontario) and as a Director for Mortgage Professionals Canada while appearing occasionally on BNN as an industry expert.
